Venmo is second nature to younger generations—but for seniors over 65, it’s uncharted (and often untrusted) territory. With $1.7 billion lost to scams last year, seniors are wary of online transactions, sticking to checks and cash. Our challenge? Rebuild trust and position Venmo as a secure, user-friendly tool to simplify payments while keeping them connected with loved ones.

As Account Manager, I led my team in developing a mock campaign tailored to seniors’ concerns. We crafted a strategy highlighting Venmo’s security features—double verification, fraud prevention, and purchase protection—while showcasing the ease and connection digital payments offer.

Through empathetic messaging and a comfort-driven tone, we positioned Venmo as the safe step forward for those transitioning from traditional banking—because security shouldn’t come at the cost of convenience.
