In a world of Amazon one-clicks and Audible downloads, how do you convince college students that a vintage bookstore is worth the trip? Post-pandemic, indie bookstores have struggled—and Tsunami Books needed a fresh way to draw in a new generation of readers.
As Account Manager, I led my team in crafting a mock campaign that positioned Tsunami as more than a bookstore—it’s an experience. We tapped into nostalgia, social connection, and the joy of exploring a town beyond campus, framing Tsunami as the perfect spot for a book-fueled adventure with friends.
By reinventing the book club concept and emphasizing vintage finds you won’t get on Amazon, our strategy made reading feel personal, social, and worth the in-person visit—because sometimes, the best stories start before you even turn the first page.
